April 28, 2011: Weifield Group Wins Two IECRM Summit Awards

Weifield Group Contracting was honored at the annual IECRM Summit Awards Banquet April 28, 2011. Weifield placed first in the category for a LEED Certified Project in Energy Efficiency and Green Construction, honoring the success of the NREL Research Support Facility project. Weifield is extremely committed to sustainable building practices. We possess one of the strongest LEED resumes of any electrical contractor in Colorado by being the first electrical contractor in the region to have completed LEED Silver, Gold, Platinum and Net Zero projects.

 Weifield was also honored with the Highest Peak Award, the top award of the Summit Awards for 2010 projects. The NREL Research Support Facility is the Golden, Colorado laboratory’s newest sustainable green building. This 222,000 ft2 office building is a showcase for energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies exceeding LEED Platinum requirements.

What is the IECRM Summit Awards? The Summit Awards were created to recognize excellence in the electrical, construction and green building fields and are highly-praised in the industry. Projects are nominated in the Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Green Building and Low-Voltage Systems categories of construction and represents the efforts of a wide range of the chapter’s contractor members. The IECRM Summit Awards Banquet honors both the many IECRM members and community leaders whose hard work moves our industry forward.
