June 2008: Signature Centre at Denver West Recieves the Exellence in Electrical Construction Award from IEC
The Signature Centre in Golden, CO Adds Another Award for Excellence in Green Electrical Construction
DENVER, CO – June 2008 – The Signature Centre in Golden, CO has been honored for excellence in electrical construction for IEC’s annual national awards. Weifield Group Contracting completed a core-shell and full build-out for Aardex at the double LEED Platinum Signature Centre.
This sustainability project was completed with standard construction costs, and is a 186,000 sq. ft. office building with transportation incentives, water efficiency measures, and new energy efficient design innovations. The new water efficiency design alone is anticipated to save 56% on annual water usage compared to the average landscaping water usage in Colorado.
The Signature Centre incorporates unique elements into its design to help its energy efficiency. The building has a raised floor that contains low-velocity ventilation made possible by high efficiency rooftop units, lighting controlled by occupancy sensors, and an exterior conditioned with convection chilled beams and radiant heat.
The Signature Centre was named one of the top 10 Green Buildings in the Rocky Mountain News in September 2007, and was the recipient of the 2008 “Green Development of the Year” award from the National NAIOP
