Why Weifield?

Weifield Group beat out four of the best school remodel contractors for the following reasons: 1) our substantial experience with schools and lighting retrofit, 2) the general contractor’s confidence that Weifield Group could perform and keep the school operation while the work was being done, and 3) we had good pricing and numerous value engineering ideas for the project.
Project Scope
This project encompasses a $1.2M complete lighting retrofit for Smoky Hill High School. Approximately half of the school’s lights are being replaced and the other half are being retrofitted. Weifield Group is completing a demo, wiring new pools, implementing a timing system for the pools, wiring the sound system, and adding teledata drop throughout the school. We are also retrofitting the fire alarm system.
Pre-Work and Attention to Quality Save the Day
The biggest obstacles for this project involved working around students currently in session, getting materials manufactured in time for installation, and completing the entire project prior to the school year starting in
August of 2010. Due to the tight schedule, Weifield Group had to perform as much pre-work as possible. Our prefabrication shop proved to be an advantage we had over our competition. We also performed work at night to swap out fixtures, and ensured the work could be completed early. Weifield Group also had to make sure the project was as safe as possible. Students would still be in session when we began work. Our evening work helped us to avoid working during school hours. To maintain quality control, we ran smaller crews who were very familiar with the project. We used our vast manpower resources to ensure we completed the project over the summer, and utilized a top foreman to ensure the project stayed on track.
