Why Weifield?

Weifield Group won the business over six competitors due to our positive experience working with the general contractor and our competitive bid.

Project Scope

This $2.4M project included implementing high voltage, telecommunications and fiber optic infrastructure along a two-mile stretch of road at Fort Carson, Colorado. The project included 27 manholes, 12 high voltage tap boxes and a full lift station with controls.

Overcoming Challenges Through Diligent Coordination and Pre-Planning

Pre-planning was critical in getting this project off the ground. Weifield Group worked in the project office for the first month to plan the best flow for the project. We pre-purchased everything as soon as submittals were approved and used as much prefabrication as possible for the manholes, light poles, etc. To speed up installation, we also used 20’ PVC in lieu of 10’ PVC.

Weifield Group overcame several challenges with this project including; coordinating with three different general contractors during the active construction, coordinating with the owner to ensure requirements were met, maintaining a stringent budget, working efficiently despite extreme weather conditions, and maintaining a safe workplace with large equipment and multiple contractors.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a vigorous quality control program.  The individual contractor, general contractor and Corps on-site inspectors monitor the work from start-to-finish. According to the general contractor, Weifield Group is quickly gaining a good reputation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the general contractor, and is on par with what is considered a superior electrician.
