On Saturday, October 5th, 2024, Weifield sponsored the Craig Hospital’s Operation TBI Freedom Memorial Hike in Colorado Springs, Colorado!
Operation TBI Freedom’s mission is to provide support to veterans and active-duty military with traumatic brain injuries. This Induction Ceremony and Luncheon is to celebrate veterans who have completed Operation TBI Freedom’s program. OTF Clients and Family Members and Gold Star Family Members were invited to honor our fallen brothers and sisters on a private Memorial and celebration hike to lay down the burdens caused by loss and inscribe the names of the fallen and/or burdens on stones and hike to place them in the OPR Memorial Case, signifying the release of the burden carried. Coffee and donuts were served in the morning and lunch from Chipotle sponsored by Weifield Group Electrical Contracting.
Weifield volunteers included Caleb A. (Rocky Mountain Apprentice), Bryce R. (Rocky Mountain Journeyman) and Dalton W. (Rocky Mountain Apprentice). Volunteering duties entailed shuttling hike participants from the parking area to the trailhead, serving coffee and donuts to the hikers, and general assistance as needed to help the event go off without issue.
Below is what Steve Smith (Military Programs Coordinator) emailed expressing their utmost gratitude:
“I’d like to give a special thanks to Dalton, Caleb, and Bryce for their incredible support and assistance throughout the entire event. That group of guys came in full support with glad hearts, and for that, I am deeply grateful.”
Weifield is grateful to support this worthwhile cause to help our veterans in need!
