EC&M unveils its Top 50 electrical contractors list each year, ranked specifically by electrical and datacom revenue. According to EC&M, despite the ongoing skilled labor shortage, supply chain challenges and long lead time on electrical equipment, rising material prices, and economic uncertainty, Top 50 players have managed to top last year’s performances. This year, the collective group posted a nearly 18% gain over last year. For 2023 (the full year in which survey data is based), the Top 50 Electrical Contractors pulled in more than $51 billion, surpassing the 2022 total of more than $43 billion and $40 billion from 2021.
EC&M’s Top 50 Electrical Contractors article included input from Weifield CEO, Seth Anderson: “Weifield Electrical Contracting (No. 50), Centennial, Colo., saw a solid boost in revenue to $226 million in 2023, allowing the company to stay on its 10-year growth target, says CEO Seth Anderson. Having sensed a slump in some markets, like housing, the company trained its eye on markets that were growing, such as water and distribution center projects — and the bet paid off. The strong performance was also aided by a nimbler approach to an electrical contracting market that seems to be changing.”
