Weifield’s project crew is in the final phases of refurbishing Colorado State University’s 380,000 sq. ft. Lory Student Center – a project that started in spring of 2022 and includes the CSU Bookstore which the crew worked hard to complete with GC partner, Haselden Construction, earlier this month.

Tracey Abel, CSU Supervisor of Capital Construction, was pleased with Weifield’s ability to turn over the bookstore in time for the graduation event – as over 24,000 individuals go through this space on a daily basis and graduation sales were up more than 10% over the same time period, last year.

“There are challenges on every project but your team met a major milestone in turning over the book store in time for CSU graduation week,” said Tracey. “I just wanted to let you know what an amazing group of individuals you have working on the Lory Student Center’s final phase of the renovation.”

In addition to the bookstore, the renovated areas included 6,200 sq. ft. of new office space as well as updates to bathrooms and common areas. Newly renovated areas of the Lory Student Center north end, involving 86,718 sq. ft. of space, will continue to come online throughout the summer. The University Ballroom, University Lounge, Never No Summer Room and meeting rooms were recently added back to the renovation project and are slated to be open and operational for fall semester.
