Over the course of nearly two years, Weifield was proud to work with GC partner, JE Dunn Construction, on a project for HealthONE to convert what once was a 35-year-old sole freestanding emergency room at Centennial Medical Plaza in Centennial, Colorado, to a new 20-bed hospital facility which now includes an emergency department, an ICU, new patient rooms, and more.

The new Centennial Hospital, the first hospital facility for the Centennial community — is located right down the street from Weifield’s corporate office at Arapahoe and Jordan. Weifield’s scope of work included the full renovation plus installation of a new fire alarm system for the entire existing facility, plus replacement of the existing generator. This project was unique in that it was halted by the owner last March, 2020, due to the global pandemic — and back to full steam by September — so the team pushed hard to make up lost time. Despite the myriad challenges in the way, the project ended up being on-schedule and on-budget.

“Weifield’s differentiators included building comradery, being team players and go-getters, and being extremely knowledgeable about the systems and shutdowns,” said Joey Licata, JE Dunn Project Manager.

Weifield Superintendent, Jeff Holderman, would like to thank his entire crew and specifically, the fantastic generator replacement crew, the complex fire alarm renovation crew (who performed this difficult phase of the project in an active hospital), the RTU replacement crew (who also worked in the occupied hospital to renovate major areas of the hospital and add a radiology room), the fire alarm installation crew (who covered three stories with OR and patient rooms), the crew who assisted the team last summer to keep things going, and the PM team for all their behind-the-scenes help.

These photos say it all…a huge CONGRATULATIONS to our team for an outstanding project!
