On September 10, 2024, Celina C., Weifield Texas HR Generalist and Gabriel S., Weifield Texas Estimator visited SkillPoint Alliance in Austin, Texas for a mentor visit with students!
The students were very engaged and appreciated hearing from Weifield regarding the career opportunities within the electrical trade. Celina and Gabriel shared more about the projects Weifield is working on. Gabriel also shared about his career progression starting as a 1st Year Apprentice, graduating his apprenticeship with CENTEX IEC and moving from the field to the office as an Estimator – all with Weifield.
This is always a very fulfilling community and workforce development opportunity for Weifield as we have hired multiple graduates of this program that have started school with IEC and are performing well. Investing time with these mentor visits is great for the next generation of electrical workers.
We look forward to hiring a few of these students after graduation in a couple of weeks!
