On October 17th, Weifield was excited to learn we are ranked #275 on the 2019 ENR Top 600 Specialty Contractors list — up from #310 in 2018! For the ENR Top 600 Specialty Contractors List, companies are ranked according to construction revenue in 2018 in ($) millions from specialty contracting in a prime or subcontracting capacity.
Weifield CEO, Seth Anderson, contributed to the ‘How Long Will the Boom Last?’ article (see page 3 of the PDF): “Relations with general contractors have been stressful due to the workforce shortage in the industry,” says Anderson of Weifield Group. He says that these shortages have resulted in projects running behind, people getting burned out and fingers being pointed. “I have been meeting with our general contractors to really figure out ways we can build back the trust,” he says.
Seth was also quoted on page 5: “With the Associated General Contractors of Colorado, we are making a big push to work with school districts in bringing back programs to help people develop their technical skills. There aren’t enough people to fill the trades.” [See Weifield’s Top 600 ranking on page 18 of the feature.]
The strength of the current market can be seen in the results of this year’s ENR Top 600 Specialty Contractors list. As a group, the Top 600 generated revenue of $135.20 billion in 2018, up 9.0% over $124.04 billion in 2017 and a 20.1% hike from $112.72 billion the year before. Revenue for the Top 600 now has risen 103.9% —more than doubling—since the market recovery began in 2011.
We’re excited about our momentum on this year’s list!
