Kudos to our Large Construction’s Eagle Claw and Warren Gate 5 Road Configuration teams for being named Weifield’s October, 2023 Rocky Mountain Crews of the Month!
The Eagle Claw project with Bryan Construction in Cheyenne, Wyoming is new construction of a 114,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant.
The Warren Gate 5 Road Configuration project with Simon Contractors in Cheyenne, Wyoming consists of security rough-in work for new Gate 5 equipment at Warren AFB.
The Eagle Claw project is led by Kelly F. (Project Manager) and Aaron G. (Field Supervisor). Weifield’s Eagle Claw team members include: William B. (Apprentice), Josh G. (Journeyman), Jayden S. (Apprentice), Gerard V. (RTT) and Tate W. (Apprentice).
Per Kelly: “From the outset, our team set ambitious gross margin percentage (GM%) targets for this project, ensuring our commitment to staying focused and diligent throughout the process. Despite the seemingly straightforward nature of this project, numerous challenges could and still can derail our plan. However, the teams dedicated to the Eagle Claw project have displayed remarkable resilience and holding true to the goals. Facing one of the rainiest summers in recent Cheyenne history right from the beginning, these teams have admirably navigated adverse conditions, and production has seldomly slipped. Despite relatively inexperienced leadership at the forefront, the crews have wholeheartedly embraced the plan and goals. As a result, we are well on our way to achieving all the initial objectives. A commendation to everyone on the team—past and present—for their unwavering commitment. Keep up the exceptional work!”
The Warren Gate 5 Road Configuration project is led by Dusty W. (Project Manager) and Steve A. (Field Supervisor). Weifield’s Warren Gate 5 Road Configuration team members include: Peter B. (Journeyman), Edgar C. (Apprentice) and Jim W. (Apprentice).
Per Dusty: “FE Warren AFB Gate 5 Reconfiguration is our team’s very first Civil project which included a complete shutdown of the main commercial gate entrance to the FE Warren Air Force Base. The project also includes a complete overhaul and demo of the existing gate security and entirely new security installed. Steve and his entire team worked tirelessly to ensure a seamless transition prior to and during the initial closure of the gate which required highly coordinated efforts on all sides. Closure of this gate was a massive feat and has extremely tight schedule restraints to ensure the gate re-opens on time to meet the Military Base needs. Steve and the team have been diligent in meeting and exceeding the many challenges that working on a military base presents but also the unknown challenges that come with our very first Civil project. The gate is scheduled to re-open in mid-November and we look forward to the success of the project as well as the new relationships we have built with both Simon Contractors and Sloan Security Group. While many tasks on this project were entirely new to Steve and his team, they took this challenge head on and are proving Weifield’s continued success as well as positioning Weifield as a sought-after partner for future government work.”
Congratulations to our Eagle Claw and Warren Gate 5 Road Configuration teams for this well-deserved recognition!
