On March 10th, Weifield participated in a “Ladies’ Lunch” volunteer day with Doull Elementary students as part of an ongoing program facilitated by our partner, Chris Squadra, of Peak Program Value! Weifield’s Penny Berkeyheiser, Northern Division Project Coordinator, and Liz Dietrich, Safety and Purchasing Administrator, volunteered their time to spend with the school’s third grade class.
With a large percentage of the student body comprised of minority students — 92% of which are eligible for the Federal free/reduced lunch program — this ongoing volunteer program provides Doull Elementary students with exposure to a variety of business people in order to help them learn about various industries and inspire them to dream about goals for their lives.
Helping our community is one of Weifield’s four core company values — so we are always excited about opportunities to make a difference; we enjoyed our time with the kids at Doull Elementary!
