On October 27, 2017, Weifield was honored to receive an Independent Electrical Contractors Association (IEC) 2017 National Award for our achievements on our Industrial division’s City of Westminster Pump Stations Improvements project!
Handed out every year at the Amped Up Luncheon and the Awards Gala at the IEC National Convention, IEC National Award winners r…epresent those members and chapters who have made great strides within the electrical industry and the association.
The 2017 winners were announced at IECCon17, held October 25-28, in Phoenix, AZ. The City of Westminster Pump Stations Improvements project is one of many projects the City of Westminster initiated in recent years to provide a reliable water supply for their more than 100,000 customers; the owner’s main driver behind this project was to maintain a better pressurized water system for the city. Weifield’s work on this design-assist project encompassed improvements at four different pump station facilities (Jim Baker, Silo, North Park & Wandering View pump stations), as well as the associated electrical and instrumentation work. Weifield’s City of Westminster Pump Stations Improvements project won the IEC National Award in the Industrial category (for contract amounts up to $1.5M). IEC-Rocky Mountain’s 2017 Board Members were also recognized at the gala for their service (Weifield’s COO, Pete Farreny, completes a three-year term this year).
We’re very thankful for our wonderful partners on this project — Garney Construction, the City of Westminster, and Burns & McDonnell, in particular, who helped make this a successful project!
