Weifield Group is excited to announce we have acquired a majority stake in privately-held IDI Electric, LLC, a renowned woman-owned and HUB-certified business enterprise with headquarters in Austin, Texas! The IDI Electric acquisition will allow Weifield Group (Weifield) to enhance the company’s future growth and performance in the Texas electrical construction market.
IDI Electric operated for four years under the leadership of Richard and Debbie White, who grew the business from a small start-up operation to an $8M business with over 50 employees; the company services a wide range of electrical construction projects and clients in the Austin, Texas market and surrounding areas. United by a common business culture, this new alliance between IDI Electric and Weifield – which will be completed over the next few months and will now operate under the business name, Weifield Group Contracting Texas – fortifies the existing client base while allowing Weifield to meet its strategic expansion goals.
“This new alliance was a three-year venture signifying successful completion of our strategic goal and opening up a host of opportunities for Weifield in the Texas market,” said Seth Anderson, Weifield Group Chief Executive Officer. “We met with the former ownership numerous times over the last months and were pleased to find a company that aligned directly with our core values of people, process, community, and trusting relationships. With this acquisition, we are gaining strong talent and innovative performance that builds on Weifield’s successful client satisfaction history. We are excited about the future in the Texas region.”
“As this is another chapter in the new life of IDI Electric and in my life, personally, I am pleased to be representing Weifield Group Contracting Texas as Chief Operations Officer,” said IDI owner, Richard White. “My role here is to continue to provide our community with the exceptional product that our men in the field deliver on a daily basis. These are exciting times, here, as we look toward the future – continuing to grow this new company and afford opportunities to all who take this journey with us!”
Under this merger, Weifield Group Contracting Texas will continue to service the acquired existing clients’ projects with the same standard of excellence and care as IDI Electric has delivered since inception – pursuant to its contracts – with the additional support from the Weifield organization. Richard & Debbie White and their son, Garrett White, along with Weifield Group Contracting Texas President, Nate Anderson, are now part of the Weifield Group Contracting Texas ownership team; the company will utilize IDI Electric’s existing personnel and relationships in this market in order to grow as the company evolves.
Weifield is a recognized leader in cutting-edge electrical construction with more than 500 employees, based in Colorado, with offices and projects extending into Wyoming, and now, Texas. All of the company’s top ten general partners in Colorado rely on Weifield’s services to provide quality projects on-time and in-budget. Weifield’s focus is to deliver a level of excellence in the preconstruction and construction phases that exceeds the expectations of its clients. Weifield’s preconstruction approach is proactive and integrated, facilitating the delivery of the most cost-effective solutions possible while addressing constructability issues and providing transparent, real-time feedback related to design considerations.
