We are excited to profile some of the highly competent and committed women in our ranks, this week – next up is Nena W., Weifield Rocky Mountain Estimator!

My father owned a pallet company when I was growing up, so I started pulling nails out of old pallets when I was about 5 years old and building them when I was about 10. I always liked building things but my dad wanted me to do something less physical…so I went to paralegal school. I realized 1 ½ years in that I really didn’t think an office job is what I wanted. Finally, someone asked me what I really wanted to do for a career and brought up the trades. The electrical trade sounded really interesting, so I went for it and I’m a Journeyman electrician.
I like being a part of something that I helped build in some way. I can drive across our city and see buildings I personally worked on in one way or another.
I would like to thank Rick O., Rob P., Brad S., George K., Clayton R., Anthony W., and Karla N. All have been great mentors and have supported me in my career.
I love the team I work with at Weifield. I have never worked anywhere with better people. It really feels like a family here.
I want to continue my newfound love of estimating, and hopefully let other women in construction see that you can go anywhere you want in this business.
