“THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY GIVES ME THE ABILITY TO WORK WITH DIFFERENT PEOPLE IN THE OFFICE AND IN THE FIELD” ~ DEVYN GABALDON, WEIFIELD MANPOWER RESOURCE MANAGER
I actually worked in the mental health industry for 11 years, then decided to change careers and went to work in the electrical field as a recruiter and manpower assistant. I really enjoyed the operations side and that’s when I realized where I wanted to focus on that side in my career.
I like the construction industry because it gives me the ability to work with different people in the office and in the field. Additionally, the industry is full of knowledgeable tradespeople who are usually happy to give insight into their particular craft. The knowledge these trade professionals have is priceless.
For mentorship, support and guidance in my career, I’d like to thank Walter Grant, a General Superintendent, who taught me everything I needed to know about manpower and the ins and outs of the electrical business. He was very knowledgeable with over 40 years in the electrical industry.
I like the way Weifield keeps everyone involved in the company – they give you a chance to grow. I feel like having a strong leader helps you grow as an employee.
I have a passion for being a manpower manager and working with employees to improve their quality of life through support and communication. One of my main goals is to develop my knowledge in the Operations Department and grow into a stronger role as a woman in the construction industry.
