March 1 – 7, 2020 is nationally recognized as Women in Construction (WIC) Week — where companies throughout the U.S. celebrate and emphasize the growing role of women in the industry!

We are excited to profile some of the highly competent and committed women in our ranks, this week – next up is Jill Farrand, Marketing Director!



I have worked in media, IT, healthcare, and now, construction – getting introduced to the industry through one of Weifield’s founders. I am responsible for Weifield’s marketing and it is always exciting to get a birds-eye view of all the amazing things our team does, each and every day. I’ve been here for six years, now, and it has been amazing to see and be a part of Weifield’s growth in that time.

I think what I like most about this industry is the fact that it is always evolving – there is always something new to learn and do, as we advance our capabilities and continue to build our team and company. The lessons learned from one project can enhance the next – so the continual learning is something that is fun to be a part of.

I am grateful to the entire team for their efforts, day-in and day-out, to make Weifield great – but especially, I am thankful for the field who is the lifeblood of our business and without whom we wouldn’t have a company. My goal every day is to make sure the quality of my work is on par with theirs – as they work so hard at exceeding client expectations. Weifield is truly laser-focused on excellence in all that we do.

Weifield is unique in that we’re a larger company than we were when I started – but we work hard to create that smaller company feel, which people truly value. We take the time to recognize and appreciate individuals as often as we can – because we never want our employees to feel like a ‘number.’ I truly appreciate that about this company.

My hope for women in construction is that they continue the momentum that Weifield has generated over recent years and realize that they truly can make an impact in this company and to the industry, as a whole, in their careers. We’re not just building great projects here at Weifield – we’re building individuals, teams, a culture, a national presence, and really – a legacy. I hope they know they can make their mark on that legacy through their unique contributions.
