CELEBRATING WIC WEEK: THE AMAZING WOMEN OF WEIFIELD (FEATURE #8)!

March 1 – 7, 2020 is nationally recognized as Women in Construction (WIC) Week — where companies throughout the U.S. celebrate and emphasize the growing role of women in the industry!

We are excited to profile some of the highly competent and committed women in our ranks, this week – next up is Alecia Kranz, Weifield 2nd Year Apprentice!

“I FEEL LIKE I WORK FOR A COMPANY THAT TRULY CARES” ~ ALECIA KRANZ, WEIFIELD 2ND YEAR APPRENTICE

The Master’s Apprentice Pre-Apprenticeship program got me started in construction by exposing me to different trades in construction, teaching me power tool safety, how to use basic hand tools, and assisted me in gaining confidence.  I was a nanny before working for Weifield so I had no experience in construction and M.A.P.S.  bridged some of that gap.  Now, I am in my second year of my apprenticeship with Weifield. I work at Monarch Casino building the hotel rooms.

There are two things I enjoy the most about the construction industry.   One, I’m always learning something new and no day is ever the same.

I would like to thank the people at Master’s Apprentice for all of their help getting me into a career that I enjoy.

What I enjoy the most about Weifield is that people come first and that they give back to their community.  I feel like I work for a company that truly cares.

In the future, I would love to see even more women in the field, especially female electricians.
