Congratulations to our Large Construction division’s Warren AFB Medical Clinic project team for being named Weifield’s May, 2021 Crew of the Month!
This project, started in October 2019 with StructSure Projects (GC), is a design-build renovation to improve all departments and systems within an existing 50,000 sq. ft. Veteran’s Affairs medical facility. The project involved extensive coordination of six swing spaces for the existing building’s renovations and new construction of a 5,000 sq. ft. clinic for a women’s health, radiation, ophthalmology, and a dental clinic. There are also additional scopes of a new veterinary clinic and an addition to the existing ambulance garage – as well as a complete retrofit of the fire alarm system, nurse call stations, security systems, CCTV and access control, and updated structured cabling scope. Weifield’s work required extensive coordination to perform the scope while the existing facility was operational.
Per Weifield Field Supervisor, Ryan Neuenberger: “Our crew is currently tackling Phase 2/B renovations which is a complete remodel of Radiology/Optometry and a partial remodel of Dental; we still need to complete Phase 3/C, 4 and a couple remodels of the temporary buildings housing the departments as we renovate. The hardest part about remodels is ensuring safety with partial demos being don — our crew has lead the way in safety (including helping another sub’s co-worker when he had a stroke) while continuing to be the driving force that is moving this job forward.”
