As a Weifield founding partner and Chief Revenue Officer, Karla Nugent is responsible for the company’s business development, marketing, sales, and preconstruction departments. She has a degree in Psychology from Colorado State University and her leadership experience spans the distribution, data center construction, business expansion, operation automation, electrical construction, and philanthropy arenas. Karla’s focus on people have led Weifield to become ‘Denver Post Top Work Places’ multiple years running, and an energy-efficiency leader by becoming the first electrical contractor in the region to complete multiple Net-Zero energy projects, one being named the ‘Most Energy Efficient Commercial Building in the World’.
Karla successfully promotes Weifield Group while passionately advocating for a better construction workforce and industry. She currently serves as the vice chair of the Centura Avista Hospital Board of Trustees. She also served as vice president of Rocky Mountain Christian Academy Board, served on the Executive Council for the Emily Griffith Technical College, was president of the Independent Electrical Contractors – Rocky Mountain (IECRM) Association, and chair of the Constructors and Designers Alliance (CDA). Karla has presented to the Colorado General Assembly, advocating for improved training for the next generation of construction workers, which led to her becoming one of the founding members of SkillBuild Colorado and Skills2Compete Colorado. Karla has been honored with numerous notable industry and business awards, including the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Business’ award, Denver Business Journal’s ‘Outstanding Women in Business’ award, CREW Denver’s ‘Emerging Iconic Woman’ award, Denver Business Journal Partners in Philanthropy’s ‘Corporate Citizen of the Year’ award, and The Denver Institute for Faith and Work’s ‘Tree of Life’ (For Outstanding Charitable Service).
