The Big Dry Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility Master Plan and the resulting Solids Dewatering and Campus Wide Improvements Project, for the City of Westminster, was recently awarded the Envision Bronze Award for sustainable infrastructure.
Weifield’s Industrial division worked on this project in 2018-2020. This new solids dewatering building consisted of a new three-story facility including two centrifuge systems, dry and emulsion polymer system with associated equipment, cake bin, truck weighing scale, centrate storage and pumping system, and ferric system. Also improvements on existing WAS thickening basins, influent pump station, secondary clarifier, DO monitoring improvements of the aeration basin, and Water Quality Building laboratory improvements. Site work included addition of the medium voltage infrastructure and enhancements to their existing SCADA system.
